Welcome to my little corner of cyberspace. I am a professor in neuroscience and genetics who uses fruit flies to uncover the mysteries of brains and behavior. The name of this site is a portmonteau that implies that the affection I feel toward the objects of my research (i.e., my Drosophila) can sometimes border on maladaptive obsession. Seriously, speaking as a geneticist, let me tell you … Fruit flies are awesome!

Anyway, I write this site in my spare time because I enjoy it. I like to write about the things that interest me—mostly science, technology, programming, and beer. The opinions expressed here are my own. If you don’t like my opinions or the things I post, please just ignore me.
